E-Learning: Renewable energy courses for Natural Resources Canada
Suite of renewable energy e-Learning courses developed for the education and capacity-building initiative funded by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).

iDesign, in collaboration with Ontario First Nations communities and their Energy partner, was selected by NRCan to develop a suite of renewable energy courses. The courses covered topics such as:
-
Fundamentals of solar, wind and hydro energy
-
Engineering, procurement and construction of solar energy systems
-
Advancing energy sovereignty through Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS)

Content presentation: To support understanding of technical content, the courses use numerous infographics, learning activities and explainer animations. Real-world case studies feature interviews with First Nation representatives, offering firsthand insights into project challenges and solutions.

Assessments: Pre- and post-assessments are used to formally measure learning progress by comparing knowledge and skills, before and after the learning experience. Review exercises and activities are embedded throughout the course so that learners benefit from continuous feedback and reflection.

Multi-platform and multi-device: The courses are tested across iOS, Android and Windows platforms and work seamlessly across mobiles, tablets and desktops.
