E-Learning: Construction Safety in Canada
Design and development of a national e-learning course on safety training for construction workers across Canada.

The 6-hour training reached over 200,000 registered users with diverse levels of digital literacy, spanning urban, rural, and remote locations. Bandwidth-efficient design and user experience best practices ensured successful delivery across all learner groups.

Responsive design and rich media: The course has a strong focus on usability and visual design. It employs a responsive design approach to automatically adapt the layout for mobile phones, tablets, and desktops. It includes over 1000 screens with 94 explainer videos/animations, 25 assessment sets, and a range of interactive activities to reinforce learning.

Development approach and technology: iDesign developed the course with a planned separation of content and presentation layers. The course can be updated faster, more economically and with reduced QA than courses developed using off-the-shelf tools. A single code update can apply course-wide design changes instantly across all screens and devices.

English and French versions: The English and French versions of the training were both cost-effective and scalable, thanks to the development approach outlined above.
