I have over 25 years of eLearning experience and have worked as a Training Consultant, Creative Designer, Instructional Designer and Project Manager. I've also got Technology Management and User Experience (UX) design and management experience.

I work with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts to gather training requirements and create high-level and detailed solutions. I write storyboards and create detailed visual designs. Finally, I build classroom training packs and SCORM compliant eLearning and deploy to the LMS.

I've used Agile and Waterfall methodologies extensively, with over 6 years experience of working on Agile projects.

iDesignDigital

Training & Software Company

As a director, I manage and execute the various aspects of running of the company. I lead cross-functional remote teams to develop and deliver cutting-edge digital learning solutions, fostering innovation and collaboration across global time zones. Over the last 18 months, I've focused on expanding our reach by delivering tailored solutions to Canadian clients.

In this phase of growth, I’ve delivered five custom eLearnings, an assessment engine, and an AI-powered mobile app created for a Solar Panel solutions company—each designed to drive engagement in digital learning. I have also created a custom AI Chatbox demo that is integrated seamlessly into eLearning solutions.

Learning Content Design Lead (Project Management role)

I defined processes and shared best practices for development and deployment of online training. This was to support a DSCIS initiative to move from a primarily face-to-face delivery model to an online first training model. I defined end-to-end design processes and updated the JSP 822. I introduced concepts such as high-level designs, effort estimation tools, storyboarding, UI development, prototypes, user acceptance testing, QA, etc. I led a small team of developers and trained them to use Articulate Storyline and Rise.

FlexBasic

FlexBasic was a new product launched by Nationwide in response to a government initiative to provide all UK citizens with a bank account.

I created 3 modules to cater for the different levels of training needed by different teams.

I gathered product details from Subject Matter Experts, wrote storyboards, designed the User Interface and the Interactions and used Captivate to develop SCORM compliant modules.

I also developed a menu that allowed learners to easily navigate pages in a modules. This became a Nationwide eLearning standard after this course was appreciated by learners.

Money Laundering

I did an eLearning design and development role at Domestic and General. In 3 months, I created 4 eLearning courses. I created templates, wrote storyboards and developed eLearnings using a new HTML / Javascript rapid authoring tool called Adapt. This generates responsive eLearning that runs on all devices. I also recommended edits to existing courses to make them more relevant.

I developed 8 modules using Lectora in 2 weeks. The training was Writing Effective Content for a client in Europe.

There were many challenges:

  • The modules were hosted on the clients' LMS and we did not have access to it, so we couldn't test our solution before delivering it.

  • The duration of 2 working weeks for developing 8 modules was not enough.

  • Screens had been designed without considering eLearning tools being used.

  • A larger project was dependant on the success of this project, so there was pressure to successfully deliver the project.

Despite these challenges and the fact that I was travelling for 3 days in these 2 weeks, I managed to complete the project in time and as per the client’s quality expectations.

hmh dashboard (desktop)

The HMH dashboard was envisioned as a much needed alternative to the existing LMS landing page which was static.

Users familiar with the LMS (and new users after a few weeks) had no need for the navigational instruction on the old page. User studies showed that users simply clicked away from the page. They wanted to see their resources, assessment scores, and planning and student performance data.

The Dashboard shows users relevant data and key Performance Indicators. It gives them ready access to the tasks that they need to perform. It has been designed for tablets, desktops and mobiles. This was in fact designed as ‘tablet-first’.
